Assessment of Need

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.”  Albert Einstein

At Phoenix Psychology Collective, we offer Assessments of Need because we understand that no two children learn, think, or experience the world in the same way. Our goal is to understand each child’s unique strengths and challenges and guide them forwards - whether that means supporting them to climb the tree in their own way, or helping them to realise how good they are at swimming.

EBSA Exploration

Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) has become an increasing concern in recent years, particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic. School avoidance is often driven by a complex mix of emotional, social, and environmental factors. At Phoenix Psychology Collective, we work collaboratively with young people to explore and address the underlying reasons behind their school avoidance.

Therapeutic Support

At Phoenix Psychology Collective, we provide Therapeutic Support for children and young people who are struggling with their emotional wellbeing. Whether they're experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, or difficulties with relationships, we offer a safe space to explore their feelings, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. Every therapeutic journey is tailored to the individual, guided by compassion, evidence-based practice, and a deep respect for the child’s unique story.

Surgeries

At Phoenix Psychology Collective, we understand that schools often need guidance for multiple students at once. That’s why we offer psychology surgeries - dedicated sessions where several cases can be brought to our Educational Psychologist for consultation. We provide practical, informed advice on how best to support each pupil’s individual needs moving forward.

Tailored Training

At Phoenix Psychology Collective, we offer bespoke training packages designed to meet the specific needs of your school community. Whether you’re looking to build staff confidence around mental health, develop inclusive classroom strategies, or deepen understanding of neurodiversity, we work collaboratively to create and deliver training that is relevant, practical, and grounded in current psychological research.

SENCo Support

In today’s evolving educational landscape, SENCos face increasing demands to stay current with the latest research and guidance around mental health, emotional wellbeing, and the social and environmental factors affecting learners. At Phoenix Psychology Collective, we provide targeted support designed to equip SENCos with up-to-date, evidence-informed knowledge and practical strategies to support the children and young people in their care.

Teacher Support

Teachers are often the first to notice when a child is struggling, yet many feel underprepared to respond confidently to emotional, social, or mental health challenges in the classroom. At Phoenix Psychology Collective, we offer evidence-informed support for teaching staff, equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to support pupil wellbeing and create inclusive learning environments.

Attending Annual Reviews

Annual reviews are pivotal moments for evaluating a child’s progress and planning their next steps. At Phoenix Psychology Collective, our Educational Psychologists attend these meetings - bringing expert insight, clear reports, and collaborative recommendations to ensure each learner’s strengths and needs are accurately represented and addressed.*
