Our team

We’re a small team with big passion. Between us, that’s Dr Victoria Mullan and Mike Parsons, we bring experience from education, psychology, and public sector work. What unites us is a genuine commitment to helping young people feel understood, supported, and empowered. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all approaches - just thoughtful, compassionate support that’s tailored to each individual.

Victoria Mullan

Educational Psychologist

Victoria is an HCPC registered Educational Psychologist with a background in teaching, having previously worked in secondary education supporting students with special educational needs. She went on to practice as an Educational Psychologist within a local authority before moving into the private sector.

Victoria brings a deep understanding of Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and is especially passionate about advocating for children by recognising and building on their individual strengths. Her approach is warm, person-centred, and grounded in the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Mike Parsons

Managing Director

Mike holds a First-Class Honours degree in Criminological Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. He has worked across a range of public sector settings, delivering CBT-based behavioural programmes and supporting individuals with complex mental health needs, particularly young people.

Throughout his career, Mike has been driven by a commitment to safeguarding children and advocating for those navigating systems that can be difficult to access or understand. He co-founded Phoenix Psychology Collective to offer a service that places children’s voices, strengths, and wellbeing at its heart.

Our team (For Young People)

We’re a small team made up of Vicky and Mike. We’ve both worked in schools and other places that support children and young people, and we love helping people feel listened to and understood.

We know that everyone is different, so we don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” way of doing things. Instead, we take time to get to know you and find out what works best for you. Our job is to help you feel confident, supported, and ready to shine in your own way.

Victoria Mullan

Educational Psychologist

Vicky is an Educational Psychologist, which means she helps children and young people with things like learning, feelings, and finding ways to feel happier at school. She used to be a teacher in a secondary school, so she understands what school can be like — especially if it sometimes feels tricky or overwhelming.

Vicky is really passionate about helping children find their strengths and feel proud of who they are. She’s kind, understanding, and always ready to listen.

She also loves anything sparkly and colourful, is a big fan of Disney films and Harry Potter, and adores cats (hers is named Opie) - so don’t be surprised if she asks you about your favourite character or shows you something glittery in her pencil case!

Mike Parsons

Managing Director

Mike is a psychologist who helps children and young people understand their thoughts and feelings. He’s worked in lots of different places and has spent many years helping people through tricky times.

Mike started Phoenix Psychology Collective because he believes every young person should feel safe, listened to, and supported in a way that works for them.

When he’s not working, Mike loves anything about nature, rock climbing, playing on his PlayStation, building Lego, and collecting Pokémon - so if you like any of those too, you’ll definitely have something to chat about!
